![]() “Sometimes I can’t sleep at night because I’m thinking about all the people I’d like to murder.” “I want to hurt people all the time,” he says. And don’t get me started on the, and I quote, “Warner groupies.” There were so many arguments between Warner and Kenji that it felt overdone. He has no emotions around others, except around Juliette, his one love. He tells Castle that he enjoys killing people, he enjoys to inflict death. He literally rips people apart with his bare hands. Warner, as someone on Instagram put it, had become Kaz Brekker. Crossed the line there.Īnd the book didn’t get better after that. I don’t care if it was some ploy to show that Juliette and Warner’s love was in her “DNA” (yeah, they said that) it’s gross. The man who manipulated her and tortures people, including her fiance. Juliet spends two books (Defy Me also) having her memory and body harmed and meddled with, having her mind warped, just for Warner to give her a lil smoosh and for them to run into the sunset to get married.Īnd don’t even get me started on the scene where Robo J (Kenji’s words, not mine) decides to admit she’s attracted to Warner’s Dad, Anderson. I feel like a lot of the characters don’t feel like themselves. A backup weapon in the case that all else failed. I wanted to see the change!! The whole plot of Adam being taken and rescued just felt like an excuse to drop his name in, to go after Juliette. Instead he got a little wave at the end, with Warner noting that Adam had changed a lot and he looked happy? He had so much character development just for him to randomly submit himself to Anderson and then get rescued off page? Yeah, none of us got to see it. Bet you didn’t expect me to start there? Well, I’m throwing it out there than poor Adam was done dirty. Eight of you count the novella bind ups.Īnd we never got to find out what happened after everything. This was with the purpose of exploring the world after they had taken over The Reestablishment. Ignite Me, the final book of the original trilogy, was open ended. Let’s talk about why Shatter Me didn’t need a second trilogy. ![]() ![]() I owed it to myself to finish this series. 15 year old Nicole felt safe in Juliette’s arms, felt inspired by the action, awed by the plot, in love with the world building and writing. Shatter Me, the original trilogy, is GOLDEN in my eyes. ![]() They filled my heart with all the Juliette, Warner and Kenji moments, albeit a little like fanfic like. Restore Me wasn’t great, neither was Defy Me. Three more books were added to the original trilogy. She will be a weapon. It’s difficult to discuss what goes on without giving anything away, so to help out, here’s a link for the Shatter Me synopsis. She’s been imprisoned for over 200 days, but time has come for her to be released. If you don’t know, Shatter Me follows Juliette, a girl with the power to kill anyone who touches her skin. Disclaimer: Given that Imagine Me is the final book in the Shatter Me series, this review will have major spoilers, and no non free spoiler review. ![]()
